Our Location

UHMC HO’ĀLA offers continuing education courses throughout the year. Subjects include ceramics, painting, printmaking, photography & music. Join us and develop your own esthetic. Instruction is flexible emphasizing both design and creativity.


An Introduction to Ableton

In this course, students will learn the foundations and fundamentals of using Abelton, one of the most popular music creation software programs for live performance and studio recording. We will learn to use MIDI, track audio, arrange and perform views, record, edit, and use digital effects.

Students should have an Abelton account ( and bring their personal laptop (Mac or PC) for best results.

Creative Songwriting

We will explore unconventional approaches to the songwriting and recording process. Students will be brought through a variety of unconventional exercises and approaches. This class will establish and prove one premise: there is no such thing as "Writer’s Block”.
