Maui is recognized for it’s world-class surfing and water sports attracting thousands of surf and beach-goers from around the world.
UHMC Extended Learning recognizes it’s role in protecting Maui’s community members and visitors by providing safety training recognized and required by the State of Hawaii Department of Boating and Ocean Recreation.
We have proudly partnered with Windward Community College to bring Ocean Safety Education, Tow-In Surf Training to our Maui residents and visitors.
Tow-In surfing and safety training originated in the 1990’s with Maui’s own famed Waterman, Archie Kalepa. We are grateful to retain Archie as an Instructor for the Tow-in course.
